Abstract

A strong resolver who freed India from the shackles of slavery and took it to the path of freedom, a great thinker who taught the lessons of truth, non-violence, selflessness and celibacy, a passionate economist, a social reformer, a visionary who thought of the development of the country's villages, a man through his deeds. A worker with strong ideals, who first exemplified high ideas like cleanliness, self-reliance, ruralism, indigenousness through his works, adored by the people of the world, a great inspiration in the hearts of the people, in short, a great man who easily traveled from Mohandas to become a Mahatma. Some such picture is imprinted on our psyche, as soon as we mention Gandhiji's name. But today we have to talk about Gandhiji's approach to sanitation, which after years is still very relevant for the development of the country.
